Creativity in Parenthood

February 17, 2020

We love taking pictures just as much as you do. Though most of us aren’t professional photographers, we love trying out new photography tech, tools, and tips. So we asked the Social Print Studio Team what their go-to photo editing apps are and we’re sharing below.

1. Lightroom Mobile

The Adobe Lightroom app is one of the heftier photo editing apps, but that’s why we like it. Even if you’re not a professional it makes you feel like one. If you’re a first time user, it can feel a little overwhelming so you might want to check out a quick Adobe Lightroom Mobile tutorial like this. The results are worth it! (Free)

2. Priime

Professional-grade photo editing tools for mobile, and for pretty much any platform and device. Try Priime Raw for iPhone, iPad, Mac OS, and presets for Lightroom. Want a sample before you try? Check out these impressive groupings to see what Priime can do. ($2.99)

3. Snapseed

Since being acquired by Google several years ago, Snapseed has become a much more robust photo editing tool. And for most people, it makes a great entry point to photo editing. Check out a simple Snapseed tutorial to get familiarized with what it can do. Available on iOS and Android. (Free)

4. Instagram

Judge us however you must, but the basic editing tools in Instagram are great for basic photo editing needs, which is what most people are interested in. Brighten, crop, rotate, and saturate an image all in the same app you want to share it. (Free)

5. VSCO

The VSCO app is sleek, intuitive, and powerful. We also love their discover homepage where they feature challenges and highlight the best images from the VSCO community. Try a 7 day trial and if you like it, join. (Monthly or annual membership fee, depends on region). Save your favorite presets so it’s easy to go back and edit.

The team also suggested Canva and Over for designing text and images and Pixlr for collages. What are your favorite photo editing apps? Share with us on Instagram and Twitter @socialPS or hop over to our private Super Fans Facebook group to get nerdy about editing with like-minded friends.
